Finally we have some news about the GTX 1050.
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 with Pascal GP107 GPU
According to the latest report, upcoming mid-range solution based on Pascal GP107 silicon will feature 768 CUDA cores. That’s 512 CUDA cores less than full fat GP106. It means that GP104 will host 12 Streaming Multiprocessors Pascal. Benchlife posted a GPU-Z screenshot with driver name, BIOS version, Device ID and Subvendor information erased, but showing some very important information we didn’t know yet. It’s worth adding that we don’t know if this is a reference card, or if there’s even going to be ‘founders edition’ of this model, but it’s a good starting point for our speculation.
Bear in mind, that GPU-Z screenshot likely shows wrong TMU count (it should be 768/16), but we assume that that the number of ROPs is correct — 32.
The leak also revealed that GTX 1050 will get up to 4GB of GDDR5 memory and interface 128-bit wide. The memory will be lower clocked than GP106-based solutions (to 1750 MHz).
Meanwhile the boost clock is also reported at 1380 MHz, which means this card should boost beyond 1400 MHz in most games.
Apart from the clocks and memory size, we have almost identical specs to GTX 950, which was recently refreshed to sub-75W specs and as a result making 6-pin power connector optional. That said, GTX 1050 should be no exception and it should also become pure PCI-e powered graphics card.
According to the information provided by the leaker, GeForce GTX 1050 should be expected mid-October.
