Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo of KGI Securities has released a new report that states the new iPhone 8 could have a glass front and back design like the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s. The analyst claims that the idea behind this approach is to release a smartphone that will look similar to the Jet Black variant of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. Due to its glossy finish and heightened dark texture, it quickly became a favorite of consumers, which is one of the reasons why you will hardly find this particular variant in stock.
The report also points to the use of ‘2.5D glass panel over the ‘3D glass’ with the difference being the curvature of the cut. According to the analyst’s claims, the 2.5D panel would be more durable and be able to withstand more drops compared to a 3D rounded glass. As for the higher end models, Ming-Chi Kuo reports that iPhone models next year will rely on either a stainless steel or aluminum metal casing.
With Apple finally adopting the large screen smartphone approach, it seems that the company is intending to take it one step further. The iPhone 8 Plus variant is expected to come with a massive 5.8-inch screen, which will obviously mean a larger battery capacity in the process.
